Fifty Children Fifty Artists is an exciting art project being launched in Tower Hamlets in 2013. We are bringing together fifty children from Tower Hamlets and fifty of the UK’s most respected artists to raise over £300,000 in sponsorship and donations.

If you would like the chance to own one of the portraits as well as support our work in Tower Hamlets then simply click through to our Just Giving pages and donate a minimum of £5 towards the project. You will be entered into a prize drawer for one of the original portraits - the winner will be announced in the first week of November 2014. In addition to owning the portrait you will also be invited to launch evening of the 50 children - 50 artists exhibition being held mid November in London.
52% of children in Tower Hamlets live in poverty - this is almost 5 times as high as the borough of Richmond which has the lowest rate
It also has some of the highest paid workers in London working in Canary Wharf - European HQs fro HSBC, Citi Bank and Barclays
Tower Hamlets has the second highest unemployment rate in London
There are also large numbers of homes which are in a poor physical condition. 44% of homes do not meet the decent homes standard and the vast majority of these are privately rented.
Tower Hamlets scores poorly over many indicators of health and over a 1/4 of all 10 year olds are obese.
